Ducati North America is recalling a slew of its high-end superbike models, including certain 2014-2018 model year Ducati 1199 Superleggera, Ducati 1299 Superleggera, Ducati Panigale R, and Ducati 1299 Panigale R FE motorcycles. In total, 651 motorcycles are affected by this recall.
Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is recalling 6,632 units of its 2019-2020 Can-Am Ryker three-wheeler because their wheel nuts may crack, which could cause the wheels to loosen.
The issue has been tracked back to at least one lot of bad parts, which BRP began receiving from February 7, 2019.
However, once the first parts were introduced into the BRP factory, the Canadian company could not track them with enough precision to reduce the number of vehicles involved in this recall, therefore the remaining production through the 2019 model year has been included in this recall group.
Every now and then we see a recall notice that kind of raises the eyebrow, and makes you wonder if things aren’t just a little too silly sometimes. This is one of those recalls.
This is because 3,147 units of the 2019 Indian Chieftain motorcycle are being recalled because their tail lights are too bright, and exceed the maximum allowed lumens set by the federal government.
As such, this means that the 2019 Indian Chieftain fails to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment” and must be recalled.
Bad news for several BMW motorcycle owners, as the German brand is recalling several models because their front and rear brake calipers may corrode, which can cause the pistons to stick or drag in the caliper bore.
The recall affects three two-wheelers from the BMW Motorrad lineup, the BMW G310R (2017-2020) and BMW G310GS (2018-2020) motorcycles, and the BMW C400X scooter (2019). In total, 5,938 bikes are affected by this recall.
Not all recalls are created equally. While some recalls deal with serious defects and possible situations, there are others that while still technically being a safety issue, still fall short of causing truthful concern. Today’s recall announcement is the latter, in our opinion.
As such, 12,733 motorcycles from the Harley-Davidson lineup that can use Harley-Davidson Detachable Tour-Pak Luggage Conversion kit are being recalled because the kit did not include replacement red reflectors.
As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment” and therefore needed to be recalled with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
This latest recall comes to us from the Piaggio Group Americas, as it affects a number of models from the Aprilia and Moto Guzzi lineups.
The issue stems from the front brake master cylinder, which may drag or inadvertently apply the drags, which can cause the motorcycle to suddenly stop and/or stall. This may happen without the rear brake light illuminating.
Specifically, this recall affects the Moto Guzzi Audace 1400 and Eldorado 1400 (2016-2018), Moto Guzzi California 1400 (2017-2018), Moto Guzzi MGX 21 Bagger (2017), Aprilia Mana 850 (2013-2014), Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 (2014-2016), Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 (2018-2019), and Aprilia Shiver 900 (2018) motorcycles.

Suzuki Motor of America is recalling 2,640 units of its Suzuki GSX250R street bike (model years 2018 & 2019) because of an issue that can cause the rear brake light not to illuminate when the brakes are applied.
According to the recall documents, the issue stems from a water intrusion that may corrode the rear brake light switch which can cause the rear brake light to fail to illuminate or remain illuminated continuously when the brake is not applied.
Obviously, the lack of a functioning rear brake light (or one that won’t turn off) creates a safety issue for the rider and those around them, which is why a recall was initiated with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
There is bad news if you have one of a handful of small-displacement motorcycle models sold by Honda, as 3,898 units are being recalled for issues with their gearbox.
The recall affects certain 2019 Honda CB300R, as well as 2018 Honda CBR300R, Honda CRF250L, Honda CRF250L Rally, and 2018-2019 Honda Rebel (CMX300) motorcycles.
The issues stems from the circlip on the transmission’s main shaft, which may detach allowing for gear misalignment.
