Brammo Eyeing an Electric Sportbike?

What on Earth could possess electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo to buy a BMW S1000RR, and then sell it on eBay after only putting 700 miles on the bike? Was Brammo CEO Craig Bramscher not pleased with what’s being hailed as the Sportbike of 2010? No, that’s not the case, Bramscher apparently heralded the bike as the best motorcycle ever made (besides the Brammo Enertia of course).

With a lime green (naturally) BMW S1000RR sitting outside of Brammo HQ not too long ago, and now an eBay classified ad selling said bike, we’re left to wonder what could be in the works. Could a Brammo electric sportbike be peculating in the minds of the Ashland, Oregon volt-heads? Only time will tell.

KTM North America Adds Streetbike Division – New Streetbike Expected for 2010

KTM North America has created a new division focused on the on-road market. The new division is clearly a step by KTM to continue its push into the road bike scene. Heading the new division is Brad Hagi, former Director of Distributor Sales Worldwide at Ducati in Italy. With this new announcement, comes the rumor of a new motorcycle in the works for 2010. Zero SS Electric Sport Bike Arriving Late 2009 – Based on Zero S Supermoto

Zero Motorcycles is readying an electric sportsbike based on their current . Keeping the same 4kWh battery pack found in the Zero S, one can expect that Zero SS to make about 31hp and 62.5 lb•ft of torque. The bike is expected to come out later this year, and feautre a full-fairing design.

Mission One Electric Sportbike Shakes Industry

It’s the Mission One. It’s the electric motorcycle the blogsphere is buzzing about. It’s green (in energy, not color…although there are a lot of earth tones going on in its design).

It’s electric. It will hit 150mph, go 150 miles, make 100 ft lbs of torque, and take 8hrs to charge on a standard home outlet. Oh, and it’s also going to cost $68,995. That’s the bike in a nutshell, but digging deeper finds there is much more to it.

What do you do with an $18,000 motorcycle that already stands apart from the streetfighter crowd as pure sex being masqueraded around town in two-wheel form? You buy another $7770 kit to make it drip that much more unadulterated lurid appeal, of course.

And, that’s exactly what Yacouba Galle, a french artisan and powersports enthusiast did back in 2007. Well, when MV passed on putting the Bestiale into production, Galle took it upon himself to offer a bolt-on kit for Brutale owners.
