It seems Ducati is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to its 2010 model line. Getting some EICMA love, the 2010 Ducati Monster 696 and 2010 Ducati Monster 1100 will feature an option for an anti-lock braking system (ABS), as well as some other minor updates. More on this after the jump.
Along with updating the Ducati 1098R’s nomenclature to the 1198 naming that’s being used with the base and “S” model, Ducati has also released two special edition motorcycles that will use the new 1198R designation. The first new model is the same Troy Bayliss replica that was available last year (sans a new gas tank), but Ducati has also released the 2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition. After updating their company logo last year at EICMA, Ducati felt it was time to get the Ducati Corse logo in-line with the new company branding. As such, at Milan this week the company announced a new racing logo, which has already begun to show up in the United States, and will work its way into Europe and other markets as they deplete current usage of the old mark.
Triumph has announced that it has formed a partnership with the Swedish Suspension house, Öhlins. The partnership will mean that Öhlins will provide compenants for a variety of bikes in Triumph’s “urban sports” range, namely the Daytona 675, Street Triple, Street Triple R, Speed Triple, and Tiger motorcycles.
To commemorate the 15 year history of the Speed Triple, Triumph is debuting the 2010 Triumph Speed Triple SE. Mechanically the same as the current Speed Triple, the SE showcases refinements that are being introduce to the entire Speed Triple line, as well as a snazzy paint-job. Details after the jump.
KTM’s last announcement from the EICMA motorcycle show was the addition of the 2010 KTM 690 Duke R to the KTM product line. With a 690cc single-cylinder making 70hp, the 690 Duke R has 46cc and 6hp more than the KTM 690 Duke. Photos and more after the jump.
Are you a European youth with a propensity to get your track day or wheelie on? If you said yes, then KTM might have a bike for you. Unveiled at EICMA yesterday, KTM has brought out two concepts that are designed to engage teens into motorcycling. Based around a KTM 125cc enduro platform, the KTM 125 Race Concept (above) and KTM 125 Stunt Concept (below the jump) have only 15hp, but pack plenty of style and attitude. After unveiling the 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP, we were impressed with the new performance specs, but the look of the bike really hadn’t changed that much. Enticing us to empty our wallets further, Ducati put together an EVO SP will an assortment of their official Ducati accessories kit, and the result is stunning. Moto Guzzi’s second concept from EICMA is the Moto Guzzi V12 X (also check out the Moto Guzzi V12 LM & Moto Guzzi V12 Strada). Also built around the Mandello 1,200cc v-twin motor, the X is shorter and reminds a lot of the aptly named Aprilia Mana X with its banana seat and snubbed nose. Photos and more after the jump.
The last in Moto Guzzi’s trio of Mandello based concepts is the Moto Guzzi V12 Strada (also read about the Moto Guzzi V12 LM & Moto Guzzi V12 X). While the LM separates itself from the group with its design, the V12 X shares very similar cues with the V12 Strada. Whereas we thought the Strada was more minimalist, the X seems to have more meat on its bones.
Moto Guzzi has made three concepts for this year’s EICMA show, all based around the Mandello 1,200cc v-twin motor. Unveiled en masse, the Moto Guzzi V12 Le Mans (LM), Moto Guzzi V2 X, and Moto Guzzi V12 Strada are all striking concepts, but the V12 LM was the star of Moto Guzzi’s unveiling, and shows the brand’s aggressive designs and focus for the future.
