Murmurings on the internet of a new iteration of the Yamaha MT-10 have been gathering as of late. So much so, we could even see the debut of such a bike as early as tomorrow.
While we will have to wait and see if the latter is true, there is enough smoke to believe the fire that Yamaha’s venerable streetfighter will be getting upgrade for the 2022 model year.
Judging from the supposed leaked photo above, the changes seem centered around mostly Euro5 homologation requirements, with a new exhaust configuration and some new body panel designs being the obvious changes.
As such, we would thus expect minor changes to the performance figures of the MT-10 for the 2022 model year, though nothing drastic in the horsepower and weight categories.
Our eyes spy some changes to the front braking system as well, and the intake has a more pronounced scoop into the airbox.
While it doesn’t seem that Yamaha is really pushing the “all new” onto the 2022 Yamaha MT-10, that might not be bad news for two-wheeled fans.
We rated the Yamaha MT-10 rather highly the last time we are on it, making the MT-10 a strong pick in the streetfighter category if you’re on a budget…that is, if you can get over the polarizing choices on the styling.
