The MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR is a special bike in its own right, featuring another of Massimo Tamburini’s iconic designs in motorcycling. It’s hard to improve upon such a work, which is perhaps why we see MV Agusta currently recycling its aesthetic as it updates its motorcycle line.

This fact hasn’t stopped Moto Corse from trying its hand on improving upon the Tamburini design though, as the company has put together what it calls the MV Agusta Brutale 1133 Evo-CA: a carbontastic work of both visual bling and go-fast parts.

Believe it or not, but Maxime Berger is thanking his lucky stars that his OZ wheel failed when it did, as the French rider could easily have been at a faster turn at Donington Park, or worse, barreling down the straightaway at maximum speed during. It’s rare that you see a roadracing wheel brake away from its hub, especially since these parts are cast/forged as a single unit. It’s even rarer that we catch that moment occurring in a photograph as spectacular as this. It was a tough break (pun intended) for this World Superbike rider, but kudos to the photographer.

When news of the 2011 Triumph Speed Triple hit the interwebs, with its spiffy new headlight and crazy-light aluminum frame, the clock immediately started ticking on when the 1050cc triple’s little sibling, the 675cc Street Triple & Street Triple R would get the same treatment from Triumph. Hopes for a 2011 update were seemingly dashed when the British company posted the current model Street Triple as its 2011 offering, but rumors persisted that we’d see an updated middleweight naked very soon. Being released as an early 2012 model, we see our first official photos of the 2012 Triumph Street Triple & 2012 Triumph Street Triple R, new headlight and unfortunately little else.

Slap! And that’s what happened when Max Biaggi stopped by Marco Melandri’s pit box after qualifying, after the two riders traded moments stuffing each other during the Superpole sessions. After Superpole concluded Melandri got The Roman Emperor’s wroth in the paddock, as the reigning World Superbike Champion stopped by the Yamaha pit, and gave Melandri a couple of light slaps on the face during a worded exchange. Both riders got a warning for their on-track behavior, while Biaggi was fined €3,000 for his actions. Video after the jump.
