Kawasaki UK Launches Online Test-Ride Booking

Kawasaki UK has announced that it has setup a new website where interested riders can sign up to test ride a Kawasaki street machine from their local dealer. The site, kawasakitestride.co.uk, let’s riders search for new and used green machines by location, and then schedule a test ride directly with the dealerships. While this doesn’t affect us American riders too much, it’s a sign that the at least some portion of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are revaluating the motorcycle purchasing process.

UPDATE: Kawasaki has released a concept sketch and teaser video of the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R

MotoRevue’s Jérôme Vannesson has been at it again with his Photoshop mastery. This time the Frenchman imagines what the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R could look like, and if the real deal is anything close to this work, Kawi fans are in for a real treat. Well done Jérôme.

Roger Lee Hayden to Kawasaki World Superbike

Roger Lee Hayden, younger brother to former MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden, has signed with Team Pedercini for the 2010 World Superbike season. Roger Lee rode the Kawasaki ZX-6R to an AMA Supersport Championship, so theoretically he should feel at home again on Team Green satellite team in WSBK. However, the liter-bike class has proven difficult for the younger Hayden. In his three years on the Factory Kawasaki AMA Superbike team, two of those years were shortened by serious crashes.

BREAKING: Kawasaki Quits AMA Pro Racing

Kawasaki has just announced that it will be leaving the AMA Pro Racing series. Citing the economy as it core reason for leaving the American racing series, Kawasaki says it hopes to return to road racing when the economic conditions in the United States allow the company to do so. For the DMG & AMA, this is the second manufacturer that has withdrawn from the now beleaguered racing series, and just a continuation of the momentum that has become AMA Pro Racing’s downward spiral.

A lot of time has gone by since Wayne Gardner won the 1987 500GP World Championship or the 8 Hours of Suzuka, but that didn’t stop the Austrialian motorcycling icon from doing the rounds at the WSBK Portimao testing paddock this past week. Hoping on a variety of bikes, Gardner got a chance to see what WSBK riders were dealing with this past season, and gave GPone his thoughts on how each bike performed around the Portuguese track. 2010 Kawasaki ZX-10R Gets Aesthetic & Minor Updates – Steals ZX-6R Bodywork

With the assistance of ram-air, the ZX-10R motor produces 200hp peak-horsepower at the crank, making it a popular track weapon and canyon carver. For 2010, Kawasaki (like many of the motorcycle manufacturers) is choosing not to make any significant upgrades to its liter-bike offering, instead opting to freshen up the ZX-10R with styling cues from the ZX-6R.

Team Green loyalists will be glad to hear that the ZX-10R will get some upgrades beyond the 6R bodywork, in the form of an upgraded Öhlins steering damper, smoother gearbox, and redesigned blacked-out exhaust pipes. Videos, photos, and specs after the jump

2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 Breaks Cover with Traction Control on ABS Model

Kawasaki seems to be the only Japanese manufacturer making product enhancements this model year, and with their flagship sport-tourer, the Concours 14, the Brand in Green has finally brought traction control to their line-up (we’re not counting the ZX-10R’s quasi-traction-control system). The Concours 14 gets other updates as well, including a redesigned fairing system, larger windscreen, and a second-generation linked ABS. Sadly though, no word on night-vision for the 2010 model. 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 – Bringing Sexy Back

We loved the Z1000 when it originally came out. A unique style, a superb power-plant, it was everything you wanted in a factory produced streetfighter. So, it warms our hearts to see that the Z1000 is back for 2010, and continues to push the envelope with its aggressive styling.

With an  all-new 1,043cc inline-four motor that makes 136hp and 81lb•ft of torque , the 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 shouldn’t disappoint the butt dyno. Other than the now standard ugly exhaust pipe that seems to be plaguing sportbikes lately, we have a hard time not liking what Kawasaki has done here. Specs, photos, and videos after the jump.
