Later this year, we will see the Aprilia Tuareg 660 officially unveiled, but that hasn’t stopped the excitement of seeing this twin-cylinder adventure bike ahead of its proper debut.

Spotted on the road by spy photographers, we get out first real glimpse of the details onboard the Aprilia Tuareg 660, including a good look at the bike’s face – you can see all the shots on the British site Visordown.

Built around the same parallel-twin engine that powers the Aprilia RS 660 and Aprilia Tuono 660, we can expect that the 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 will offer slightly different performance figures than its sister models, as the team in Noale hone’s the 660cc lump for dual-sport use.

Expectations are also that the Aprilia Tuareg 660 will have a robust electronics suite and a 21″ front wheel, with a price tag that should slot the machine between the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and KTM 890 Adventure.

With the other 660 street bikes showing wet weights of around 400 lbs, the 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 should be a very light entry into a segment that was once dominated by 500+ lbs machines.

All of this makes for an intriguing offer from Aprilia, which on paper should be properly disruptive to the middleweight ADV space.

While the coronavirus pandemic delayed the arrival of the Aprilia RS 660, it would seem that Aprilia has caught back up to its initial timeline with the 660 lineup, meaning a November-ish debut of the pre-production Aprilia Tuareg 660 seems assured.

This means we still have the better part of a year to wait until all the details of the Aprilia Tuareg 660 are revealed, but surely we will see a trickle of information between now and the bike’s official launch.
