Sometimes You Get the Bear, And Sometimes…

Alex de Angelis had some rotten luck last weekend while competing in the Moto2 race at Le Mans, France. Minding his own business, de Angelis was unaware that wildcard Xavier Simeon had crashed behind him. He was also unaware that Simeon’s bike hadn’t crashed, and was careening straight for de Angelis. The rest writes itself, check it out in the video above.

Was that Julian Simon who crashed and whose bike speared De Angelis? I thought Julian Simon finished 2nd, behind Elias?

Julian also had an exciting back it in style through the mid and later stages of the race.

It was Xavier Simeon who was wildcarding with the Holiday Gym Racing team (who is run by the Nieto’s after they dropped out of MotoGP with Gibernau) Simeon is currently the reigning Superstock 1000 FIM Cup Champion.

I saw that thing live. Pretty awesome.. to see. Sucks for de Angelis but I think he somehow deserves it. He caused some stupid crashes that took riders out last season in MotoGP.
