After many rumors and some obvious teasers, the folks in Bologna, Italy have finally unveiled the Ducati Streetfighter V2 model for 2022.
The recipe here is simply: take the Ducati Panigale V2 and give it the styling cues of the Streetfighter V4 (sans wings).
This means the core of the 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V2 is the desmodromic Superquadro engine in its 955cc form, held together with an aluminum monocoque frame.
The Streetfighter V2 makes 150hp (112 kW) / 75 lbs•ft of torque in this form, down a touch from the Panigale V2, but more approachable for street riding.
The single-sided swingarm is also longer, for more stability on the gas, which is good because Ducati hasn’t equipped the Streetfighter V2 with its big brother’s winglets, though you can add them in the parts catalog (both in carbon and plastic).
Doing the suspension duties are Showa Big Piston forks at the front, and a Sachs shock at the rear. The whole suspension package is fully adjustable and includes a Sachs steering damper.
Brembo M4.32 calipers are mated to 320mm discs get the braking done at the front, and the Ducati Streetfighter V2 is one of the first street bikes to be built with the Diablo Rosso IV tire in mind.
On the electronics front, the minds at Borgo Panigale have brought the whole kit. The package starts with a 4.3″ TFT dash and includes a six-axis IMU, which offers lean-sensitive traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS.
An up/down quickshifter is standard as well, and Ducati has included three riding modes on the Streetfighter V2, with three engine maps.
With more upright ergonomics than the Panigale V2, Ducati’s newest naked bike aims to be the perfect blend of street comfort and track performance.
