There Is a New Italjet Dragster on the Market, And It’s Rad

We didn’t know how badly we wanted a scooter in the garage until we saw the Italjet Dragster at EICMA this year. The Italian brand is bringing back one of its most…unique models, with a decisive modern twist.

The funny front-end you see is Italjet’s patented Independent Steering System (ISS), which separates out the front suspension and steering forces, which the Italian company says filters out any roughness from the road, without transmitting any vibrations to the handlebars.

Honestly, we just think it looks cool, along with the exposed steel trellis frame and its aluminum plates.

Available in 125cc, 150cc, and 200cc, the new Italjet Dragster makes up to 20hp (14.6 kW) from its water-cooled four-valve single-cylinder engine.

The clutch is an automatic centrifugal unit, and the gearbox is handled by a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

There is ABS on the front wheel, and stopping power is handled by a single Brembo caliper. The tire sizes are 120/70-12′ for the front, and 140/60-13 on the rear, shod by Pirelli. Lastly, the new Italjet tips the scales at 247 lbs (112 kg).

While don’t expect to see it in the USA, our European readers will be able to buy the Dragster from Italjet dealers, with pricing set at €4,800.
