Owners of a 2018 Honda CRF250R motorcycle should take note that American Honda is recalling these dirt bikes for a safety issue concerning the motorcycle’s clutch.

Specifically, the recall is for the CRF250R’s clutch basket and judder spring. Under certain conditions, the clutch basket can break and possibly lock up the engine in the process, which can lead to a crash and injury.

American Honda will send a letter about the recall to all registered owners of the 2018 Honda CRF250R, and the clutch basket and judder spring will be replaced with modified parts by a Honda dealer. Of course, the repair will be carried out at no cost to the owner.

As a result of this recall, Honda Dealers have been instructed to stop selling new or used 2018 Honda CRF250R motorcycles, until the issue has been rectified on those machines.

For 2018 Honda CRF250R owners who require additional assistance with this recall, Honda Motorcycle Customer Support at 866-784-1870, or online at http://powersports.honda.com (click “Recall Information” at the bottom of the page).
