We are sad to report that the 2017 Isle of Man TT has claimed its first fatality, as Davey Lambert of Gateshead, England passed away this evening, after sustaining injuries during the Superbike TT race on June 4th.

Lambert crashed near Greeba Castle, during the third lap of the Superbike TT, and was treated at the scene before being flown by helicopter to Noble’s Hospital on the Isle of Man. He was later transferred to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool, where he then passed away.

Davey Lambert made his Mountain Course debut at the Manx Grand Prix in 2014, where he finished 4th in the Newcomers A race, and 24th in the Junior Manx Grand Prix race, that same year.

He returned to the Manx Grand Prix in 2015, where he recorded 9th and 11th place finishes in the Junior and Senior MGP races, respectively. He was also 8th in last year’s Senior MGP Race. This was the first year that the 48-year-old had raced at the Isle of Man TT

Our deepest condolences go out to Davey Lambert’s family, friends, and his partner Tracey. We know the TT paddock will mourn his passing.
