Another day, and another factory MotoGP team debut. This week’s entry is actually a two-fer from the KTM camp, as we see in their race livery both the factory-back Red Bull KTM team debut (Pol Espargaro & Johann Zarco), as well as the factory-supported KTM Tech3 squad (Hafizh Syahrin & Miguel Oliveira).

KTM will be looking to make big steps this year in the MotoGP Championship, as the team stalled on its progress last year. This is part of the reason for a two-pronged approach in the paddock, and for the Tech3 outfit getting substantial support and involvement in the development of the KTM RC16 race bike.

The Austrian brand, partnered heavily with Red Bull, has made big investments in its grand prix racing program. Marking their goal as being the MotoGP champions, KTM has a long way still to travel, but the teams shows no shortage of enthusiasm to get there.

True to its pace in 2018, the testing days since Valencia have seen KTM bringing a bevy of parts for its riders to try, which some in the paddock tip as part of the reason why the KTMs floundered last year, as the factory lost sight of the forest from the trees as they constantly tried new directions of development.

We will have to wait and see whether that is the case for 2019, but so far the signs are good, with KTM just needing to find that next step in its single-lap pace in order to qualify better on the grid.

Before the season starts though, KTM has provided over 200 high-resolution photos of its 2019 MotoGP teams, for your viewing pleasure. Click on them in the gallery, and enjoy.
