Ducati V4 Superbike Caught Testing Again

In less than a week’s time, we will get all the details about Ducati’s new V4 engine, named the Desmosedici Stradale, but details about Ducati’s V4 superbike model continue to come in as well.

Today, we have another video of the V4 superbike testing. This time, the venue appears to be Mugello, and the video quality is high enough that we can clearly see that the machine in question is the V4 superbike in its testing garb.

Ducati will be showing the world press the new V4 engine at special event on Thursday, just ahead of the San Marino GP at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. Ducati’s V4 superbike isn’t expected to debut until November though, at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan.

Based around a MotoGP-inspired design, the Desmosedici Stradale engine is a 90° V4 motor with desmodromic valves and a special firing order.

With design elements from the Desmosedici MotoGP race bike and the Panigale’s Superquadro engine, the Desmosedici Stradale should be a showcase of Ducati’s engine technology, and we expect the superbike model to show other more advanced features as well.

Stay tuned to Asphalt & Rubber for more Ducati V4 superbike news, and a hat-tip to Philip for sending this video our way.
