Brabus is known best for its high-end and exclusive Mercedes-Benz automobiles, but the iconic German tuning house is turning its head to the two-wheeled realm now for the first time, partnering with KTM to bring the BRABUS 1300 R motorcycle.
With 154 examples set to be built, the BRABUS 1300 R builds off the recently released KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO platform, and adds finishing touches that could only come from the German luxury brand.
As such, the KTM’s bodywork and style give way to the Brabus “black and bold” aesthetic, which includes plenty of carbon fiber bodywork and detailed trim pieces.
Unique items of note include the forged aluminum nine-spoke “Monoblock Z” wheels, a shotgun slip-on exhaust, and a custom-made heated seat.
The rest of the styling is a bit more classic roadster than what we have come to expect from an Austrian motorcycle, which ties into the Brabus scheme of bold luxury quite well.
On the technical side, you won’t find a spec-sheet that strays too far from the KTM donor bike, as the BRABUS 1300 R features the same 1,301cc v-twin engine (180hp / 103 lbs•ft) as the KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO, and boasts the same semi-active WP suspension pieces.
The BRABUS 1300 R will come in two liveries, 77 units each (a nod to Brabus’ 1977 inception), and pre-orders will be taken on the KTM website, starting on February 14th at 3pm CET.
If you have to ask how much, then as the classic saying goes: you probably can’t afford it. That being said, the quoted price is €39,500 – with the BRABUS 1300 R only available in Europe and South Africa. Sorry USA…
