Aprilia RSV4 Carbon Fiber Fairing Kit

It seems Aprilia is getting ready to offer street-ready carbon fiber body panels for the RSV4 superbike, which should help well-financed Aprilia owners unload a maximum amount of cash for a minimal amount of actual performance increase (it’ll look good though). Composed of a carbon/kevlar/carbon layered composite, pricing for the carbon fiber fairings is being bantered around at about $5,000 for the carbon belly pan, front fairing, tank cover, air vents, right side panel, left side panel, and carbon tail pieces.

Should that price point prove to be true, that’s a hefty price tag for something that usually goes for about $2,000 to $3,000 from reputable compostite shops, but then again those fairings don’t come with Aprilia paint highlights and decals already applied, so…

It’s unclear if this option is destined for the United States when it does come to fruition (although we expect it will be in the US price catalog for 2011), or what official pricing will be, but we don’t see this being a big hit with RSV4 owners, no matter how damn good it looks.

    Hot n’ fast as sh*t off of a shovel in the Sahara sunshine!!!

    It just needs Denise Milani in black leather on it now :)

    Just looks like stickers on the carbon to me with out paint accents. Maybe they’re clear coated, but I doubt it. $5K is pretty outrageous IMO, about as bad as ktm’s optional $4k redbull or Akro reps for the rc8. Back to the stickers…I was surprised the stickers on the rsv4 I demoed weren’t clear coated either, bike had less than 300 miles and the stickers looked like crap, all scratched up. Aprilia could take note of Ducati and MV’s method. Don’t get me wrong the rsv4 is a great bike. Guess this kit is for the guy who doesn’t care about over paying for something.

    Pretty object of lust and passion.Period.

    I’d rather spend that money on making the frame and swingarm black.

    Fantastic looking bike with that mod, but I actually like the 2011 RSV4 Factory colors just fine. I have become a card carrying member of the Aprilia Fanboy Club since I bought my first one last year.

    I am a cheap S.O.B. though and I usually wait until someone has a two year old bike they are sick off and I buy it in the middle of winter. Time to start keeping my eyes open for an RSV4.

    Looks awesome to me. Probably on the expensive side, but it probably fits like an OEM product which is a lot more than can be said for most aftermarket CF body bits. Any word on weight savings?

    Carbon weaves seem to have changed recently. It just looks a bit different from every piece of factory and aftermarket carbon I’ve ever bought for my Ducati.

    Will, Ducati cheaped out and didn’t clear the decals on the 848. Cheap basturds.

    @BkePilot Weight savings are expected to approximate that of taking a good sized dump.

    @Jake Fox: LMAO.
