Kawasaki Z650RS Debuts with Retro Style for 2022

Kawasaki’s USA launch today was mostly a minor affair, with the standout debut being the 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS. To understand the Kawasaki Z650RS, all one has to do is look at the Z900RS model.

That is to say, the Z650RS follows the same game plan as its 900cc sibling, taking the Z650 sport bike and giving it a retro-inspired facelift for the “RS” designation.

As one would then expect, the engine and chassis of the Z650RS are shared with the Z650 sport bike, with Kawasaki making more aesthetic and ergonomic changes for this machine.

As such, the 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS has higher bars and a seat better suited for two-up riding. Spoked cast wheels, dual analog gauges (with a small LCD display between them), and a round LED headlight complete the look.

In terms of amenities, there is a Bosch 9.1 M ABS module for conventional anti-locking brake operations, as well as a slipper-assist clutch for easier downshifts. The wet weight is set at 412 lbs.

Pricing for the USA is set at $8,999 MSRP, if you feel so inclined to put a 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS in your garage.
