A Bigger, Better, Badder Moto Guzzi V7 Debuts for 2021

When the Moto Guzzi V85 TT debuted, we speculated that the new 850cc engine could show up in other models. Now, it seems that day has finally come as we get word that the Moto Guzzi V7 is getting a hefty update for the 2021 model year.

Using a variation of the transverse v-twin engine found on the V85 TT, the 2021 Moto Guzzi V7 makes 65hp (up from 52hp), with 54 lbs•ft (73 Nm), in this street-bike friendly tune.

In addition to the new powertrain, the “Eight and a Half” comes in two varieties (Stone & Special), and gets a number of refinements and updates in the process.

The exhaust pipes have been rerouted, there is a larger final drive, a wider rear wheel, and new Kayaba shock absorbers. There are also new side panels and a shorter rear mudguard to complete the visual package.

If you needed a quick way to distinguish the Moto Guzzi V7 Stone from the Moto Guzzi V7 Special, they differ most obviously in their respective dashes.

The V7 Stone has an entirely digital circular dash (and an DRL across its headlight), whereas the V7 Special uses a dual analog instrument cluster (it also has classically spoked wheels).

In terms of coloring, the V7 Stone is available in three satin-finish color schemes: “Nero Ruvido”, “Azzurro Ghiaccio”, and “Arancione Rame”. Meanwhile, the color variants of the V7 Special are “Blu Formale” and “Grigio Casual”.

There is no word yet on US pricing, but we do expect to see both models in North America.
