The New MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Will Have Over 200hp

Nestled deep in the announcement that MV Agusta has raised €40 million and has a new CEO is a slightly less business-focused news item, one which concerns the soon-to-be-released MV Agusta Brutale 1000.

The new streetfighter will make 212cv – making it the most powerful production naked bike on the market, with a top speed of 193 mph. Do we have your attention? Good.

The Brutale 1000 is the first motorcycle from MV Agusta to use the company’s new four-cylinder engine platform, with a neo café racer set to debut this time next year, with the year after that showing a new MV Agusta superbike.

Aimed at being the pinnacle of motorcycle design and technology, it will be interesting to see what the clever minds in Varese have conjured for this new naked.

Does this big horsepower figure mean that the Brutale 1000 will make all of its go-fast juice at the top of the rev range, like a track-focused superbike? Or, have the engineers at MV Agusta left some meat in the mid-range for us street hooligans?

We won’t have long to wait to find out. Expect the 2019 MV Agusta Brutale to debut in the next few days at the EICMA show in Milan.
