Photo: Two Wheel Drive for Ducati Corse? Ducati Corse two wheel drive 635x422

Naw…we’re just having some fun today, but not as much fun as Nicky Hayden’s pit crew during the Brno test. Staging this photo of the team supposedly starting up the Desmosedici’s new two-wheel drive system, the photo plays right into the rumors that Ducati is literally trying anything under the sun to make the GP11 work for Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden. With Filippo Preziosi essentially saying there are no sacred cows at the Italian racing effort, we honestly wouldn’t put it past Ducati Corse to give the two-wheel drive system a go…too bad its banned by MotoGP rules.

Ummmmm, they are bedding in brake pads, a common thing in the GP paddock. Nothing like a complete fabrication to increase hits on your website……

  2. Dr. Gellar says:

You know…for a “prototype” series, there sure are a lot of interesting innovations that are banned in MotoGP.

  3. MikeD says:

    Fred…put down the Hate-o-rade…(^_^ )

  4. I thought motorcycles were supposed to be fun. Don’t be that guy on the internet, we clearly stated the article was a joke. The next few articles about Ducati are very serious.

    “Dont Fck Whit the Desmo”…..fred

  6. BikePilot says:

That’d be one way to get some heat into that stiff bridgestone!

  7. Tom says:

Professional motorcycle racing retards development just like NASCAR has kept back Detroit for decades. Companies spend millions to get pigeonholed while the public loves to get tribalized by the marketing used to sustain the status quo. How many times have you heard some idiot vomit out the lie, “Dere just ain’t no replacement fer displacement….YEEEEHAAAW Skeeter!”? Its 2011 and motorcycles are trying to squeeze out the last micrometers of performance of 1980s technology. Not impressed anymore.

  8. Wong says:

That’d be one way to get some heat into carbon brakes! There isn’t any front wheel drive at all!

  9. aaron says:

I think I see where Rossi is losing time – they appear to be running the 2wd with the front wheel going backwards… :P

I much prefer the stoppie method for bedding them in }:)
