Racing in the Bol d’Argent, the three-hour endurance race that supports the Bol d’Or 24 hour race, we get our first glimpse of the Husqvarna Nuda 900R in racing-trim. Not exactly designed to go road-racing, the Nuda still held its own at the French endurance race, finishing ninth overall. Making the feat even more impressive was the team of French journalists that raced the Husqvarna Nuda 900R, and we all know that moto-journalists can ride for beans…let alone French ones.

Husqvarna’s first true sport bike, the Swedish brand hopes that the street-going Nuda, Strada, and Baja/Moab concepts will help turn around its failing dirt-centric business. Not exactly the first thing that comes to our minds for a track bike, let us know what you think of the Nuda 900R in track form. Photos after the jump.

Yes, its different and its quirky (just like the French) – and I like it!

  2. Bjorn says:

Looks like it could be quite comfy over longer stretches as well as a bundle of fun.

  3. motogpdr says:

Yes, actually the first thought that I had when I saw unveling photos in Europe was that it would make a great track bike. Glad to see that someone else saw it in that light as well.

  4. Denis says:

I’m a deeply shocked by your opinion of french riders :)
We do ride a lot in France you know? I would have loved to see someone ride a voxan!

  5. Bob says:

You really should stop referring to Husqvarna as a “Swedish brand.” It hasn’t been Swedish since it was sold to Cagiva in 1987. Husaberg is a Swedish brand.

  6. Bob, it’s really just something I do to keep tabs on the 12 Husaberg owners still remaining around the globe.

  7. Arkangel says:

I love it – its raw ! Its also got a slight fat track retro racing stance .. Yeeha xx

  8. RD350 says:

    I love this bike.

    Can’t wait to ride one.

Will be interesting to compare it to my HyperMotard … a very similar bike which holds it own just fine at track days.

  9. Desmocrat says:

I am French and I (am watching you) like it !

I tested the 900R yesterday, for just few kms. Perfect feeling as soon as I set up, even if the seat is a bit high. Cluch and gear are perfect, front braking is great. Maybe due to EURO3 homologation requirements, the erogation is a bit too easy and flat (compared to my monster 1000 Euro2..). I don’t like the front flap neither the light/lamp, and the battery accomodation could have been better solved. For all the rest, great bike giving excelent feeling.. I’d like to test it in a circuit, without the fear of crashing it and having to refund the seller..
