Along with the official unveiling of the 2011 Yamaha MotoGP team & livery, the Japanese manufacturer has also released photos of the 2011 Yamaha YZR-M1, with accompanying technical specifications. Unsurprisingly, Yamaha is keeping many of its exact specifications close to the chest, but test reports indicate that a refined chassis, and a slightly more powerful motor have been added to the 2011 YZR-M1.

While having the favored racing package on the MotoGP grid, Yamaha has seen Honda and Ducati make considerable improvements to their machines this past season and during the testing sessions. Likely to give the tuning fork brand a better run for its money, the big question for the 2011 racing season will be whether Yamaha, along with Jorge Lorenzo, will be able to defend their various World Champion titles with the latest iterations from their competitors. Only time will tell, but expect a strong showing from the team, despite its lack of a title sponsor.
