Triumph Trident Recalled Because of Weak Sidestands

If you have a 2022 Triumph Trident in your garage, you might want to check that the bike is still upright, as the British brand is recalling 314 units of the street bike because its sidestand might be prone to bending.

The defect stems from an incorrect raw material being used in the sidestand’s production, which can lead to it bend over time and could potentially cause  the motorcycle to fall over when parked.

According to recall documents, an affected motorcycle’s angle of lean will gradually increase over time. To remedy the issue, Triumph dealers will replace the sidestand, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 24, 2022. Concerned Triumph Trident owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph’s number for this recall is SRAN 593.

As always, the NHTSA is also available at 1-888-327-4236 and safercar.gov.
