How to Watch the Suzuka 8-Hour Endurance Race

The Suzuka 8-Hour endurance race is this weekend, and while the iconic race isn’t being broadcasted by a US television station, the Suzuka Circuit does make a live stream available via Ustream.

The live stream typically covers the Suzuka 4-Hour race (on right now, as of the time of this writing), as well as the free practice and qualifying sessions for the Suzuka 8-Hour. On race day, however, the stream usually just features a live-timing screen, which is still better than nothing.

You can find a schedule of the sessions on the Suzuka Circuit website, or just click right here.

The 2016 Suzuka 8-Hour features a number of top riders, with Pol Espargaró and Alex Lowes joining MotoGP test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga on the Yamaha Factory Racing Team. That trio has been dominating the time sheets so far this year, looking to repeat last year’s historic win for Yamaha.

Another special team for this stop on the FIM Endurance World Championship calendar is the Yoshimura Suzuki Shell Advance squad, comprised of Takuya Tsuda, Josh Brookes and Noriyuki Haga. Specially formed teams like Suzuki Shell, and Yamaha’s factory team, are not uncommon at Suzuka, which holds great prestige for the Japanese OEMs.

Honda too has its specialty factory-backed teams. The MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO features Honda’s WSBK rides, Nicky Hayden and Michael van der Mark, alongside Takumi Takahashi. Similarly, the F.C.C. TSR Honda will have American P.J. Jacobsen racing alongside Dominique Aegerter and Kazuma Watanbe.

Thanks for the tip Michael!
