Aside from on-track action that comes during your typical Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS), it might be worth stopping by the world’s most famous driveway to see Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi on the same piece of tarmac once again.

That’s right, Lord March has invited both Rossi and Stoner to his mansion to ride a few bikes and to drive a few cars. Rossi will be participating on behalf of Yamaha Motor, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary of business; meanwhile Casey Stoner will ride a prototype Honda MotoGP bike, likely the Honda RC213V-S consumer halo bike.

The MotoGP rivals are part of a larger group of GP Champions who will be attending the FoS, the list including John Surtees, Giacomo Agostini, Kenny Roberts, and Freddie Spencer.

“Motorbikes have always played a key part in the Festival of Speed and this year’s theme: ‘Flat-Out and Fearless: Racing on the Edge’ really sums up the spirit of two-wheeled racers all over the world,” said Lord March. “To have Casey Stoner coming to Goodwood this summer is tremendously exciting and adds to a sensational line-up of legendary racers already confirmed for the event.”

“I’m very happy to attend the Festival of Speed at Goodwood this year. It will be my first time at Goodwood, but I know this event pretty well. I have read so many stories about the Festival and I have also seen many videos. The atmosphere looks great. This event has the power to gather so many drivers, riders and motorsport VIPs and it is a great opportunity to have fun together,” said Valentino Rossi in a Yamaha press release.

“I’ll ride my Yamaha YZR-M1 to celebrate Yamaha Motor’s 60th anniversary, but I might also drive a few cars… I would like to thank Lord March for inviting me to the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. I am sure it’s going to be an incredible day and I look forward to being there!”

2015 seems to be a popular year for Casey Stoner on two-wheels, as the Australian continues to be a Honda test rider, will be compete in the Suzuka 8-Hour endurance race, and now race at the Festival of Speed.

No doubt, it would be incredibly interesting to be a fly on the wall in the riders’ tent when Rossi and Stoner are present, let alone with the other riders attending as well.
