Paddock Pass Podcast #153 – Racing Begins, Again

Episode 153 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this one sees David EmmettNeil Morrison, and Steve English talking shop about the single-day MotoGP test at Jerez, and also giving us a glimpse into what to expect at the season-opening round in Spain.

The guys talk about the conditions at Jerez, and how the intense heat will affect the race, with track temperatures likely to be 20°C higher than during a race in May.

Next, they dive into whether the Yamaha can really be as strong as it looks on paper at Jerez, and how the factory will fare against Marc Marquez.

The show also covers the impact that Michelin’s new tire will have on the series, and whether Honda and Ducati are really at a disadvantage. After that, the show goes over Ducati’s curious history at the Jerez circuit, and what impact that will have on the long run of such a compact championship.

And the guys finish off with a look at the confirmations which came this week, of Pol Espargaro going to the Repsol Honda team, of Alex Marquez being moved to the LCR Honda squad, and Cal Crutchlow being dropped by HRC.

As always, be sure to follow the show every week, as we strive to get you through this difficult time where little to no motorcycle racing is taking place.
