A good opening day for Jorge Lorenzo, who finished with the 2nd fastest time.

Marc Marquez suffered an electrical problem during FP1, and had to push his Honda RC213V back down pit lane.

Bradley Smith was the surprise package of the day finishing with the fastest time.

Cal Crutchlow was straight on the pace today setting the 4th fastest time in FP1 and FP2.

Valentino Rossi is confident of his pace for the weekend after making some improvements to his Yamaha M1 on his last run of the day.

Scott Redding was 6th quickest in FP1, but slipped to 14th in FP2.

Marc Marquez is looking towards Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, and Andrea Dovizioso as his main rivals for Sunday’s race.

A tough day for Andrea Iannone who is hoping a change of medication will help ease the pain from the shoulder he dislocated in a testing crash at Mugello last week.

A day this young fan will remember for a long time. I love the look on his face as he looks up at his hero.

Pol Espagaro couldn’t match the pace of his teammate and finished the day in 8th.

Dani Pedrosa is returning this weekend after missing the last three races following arm pump surgery. He struggled in FP1 to readjust to the speed of a MotoGP bike. The feeling started to return in FP2, and he finished 0.546s behind pacesetter Bradley Smith.

Jack Miller had a great day finishing fastest open bike in 13th.

A lack of confidence in the front of his factory Honda continues to cause problems for Scott Redding.

Jorge Lorenzo was pleased with his pace despite not being completely satisfied with the set up of his M1 Yamaha.

Andrea Dovizioso will want to put the disappointment of Jerez behind him and has started well finishing 1st in FP1 and 3rd in FP2.
