The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, held earlier this year, was one of the best races I have ever seen. Maybe even the best. From start to finish, it was absolutely fantastic. Spectacular coverage and camerawork, the likes of which I don’t think I’ve seen before or since then. Plus every car manufacturer was present, competition all up and down the field. Classic racing cars. Man, I’m telling you, that race was off the scales of anything I would have been able to imagine. Better than the couple of 24-hour of Le Mans races I’ve seen, as well.

Sorry, I know this is not a car site, but I just had to say something about it. Blame Tony. Blame Sandro Cortese.

It has been an unusually cool year so far in parts of the US with lots of record lows being set even in summer. I notice both Marquez and Pedrosa are sporting front brake rotor shrouds.

    Another set of good photos.

Any closeups of Lorenzo’s new helmet? It looks like the Terminator…

  • L2C

OK, I just checked it out on Lorenzo’s Twitter page. Should have done that first before asking. Sorry!

And all the others out there. Any photos you see on a Mfg site or rider site is more than likely shot by the likes of Tony or Scott. They shoot for less than cost and the “client” gives all those images away for free. A couple hundred photos from a weekend on a Mfg FaceBook site is a couple hundred photos that are now mostly useless to the photographer. So, go to Tony’s site, Scott’s site, first before ever going to a team or rider or mfg. It’s the least you can do. This group of journalists you find on A&R are doing everything they can to work as a team to survive. The track is full of free VIP’s who’s single ticket paid for by the team, mfg, whomever, is worth more than Tony or Scott make all weekend from the same Mfg.. Buy the prints Scott and Tony offer as they work 16 hour days to provide this coverage and barely break even. Love racing? Support those who bring it to the world and are forced to pay Dorna for the privilege.

    Two things.
    1. Great shots, as always Tony. You’re the man behind the glass.
    2. American paddock girls – Best in the world.
