Stark VARG Electric Dirt Bike Debuts with 80hp and 242 lbs

Stark Future is the newest electric two-wheel maker on the market, debuting their electric dirt bike, the Stark VARG.

Despite being a new outfit, Stark’s electric motocross machine boasts some impressive stats right out of the gate, with a claimed 80hp power figure and a 242 lbs ready-to-ride weight.

Perhaps most importantly, the Stark VARG looks the part of a serious dirt bike – electric or otherwise.

To temper some expectations though, Stark doesn’t disclose if that horsepower figure is a peak number or continuous, nor do they stipulate whether their 6 kWh battery pack is using a nominal rating or theoretical rating.

Stark does boast though that the VARG is the most powerful dirt bike on the market, and putting one in your garage will cost $11,900 for the 60hp version, and $12,900 for the 80hp model.

For that coin, you get braking done by Brembo, KYB suspension front and back, with 310mm of travel and springs to suit your weight, your choice of an 18″ or 19″ inch rear wheel, and a hand or foot-activated rear brake. A kickstand will cost you another $100.

Stark is also touting that the VARG has over 100 throttle maps, which can make the VARG behave anywhere between a 125cc to 450cc dirt bike, two-stroke or four-stroke. That seems more like gimmick to us, but the rest of the bike looks very promising.

Considering that a KTM 450 SX-F will cost you $10,300 MSRP today, the pricing on the Stark VARG is looking fairly reasonable for an electric motorcycle with these specs.

Though, we will be more impressed when we see the bikes rolling out dealerships doors, with price and real-world uses that match or beat their petrol counterparts.

Still, the Stark VARG appears to pick-up where the Alta RedShift MXR electric dirt bike left off, which is certainly a good thing.

Based out of Spain, it’s not clear when we can expect Stark dealers in the USA, but the Stark website lists deliveries to be made in early 2023. We shall see…
