Rumors about KTM coming out with a budget-focused, no thrills ADV bike appear to be true, as the 2015 KTM 1050 Adventure has broken cover at the 2014 EICMA show. The 1,050cc v-twin engine makes a modest 95hp, and can be detuned for A2 license uses in Europe.
The European note is important, as the KTM 1050 Adventure won’t be coming to North America anytime soon, as once again KTM leaves American and Canadian riders out in the cold, on the new model front.
For those markets that do get the 1050 Adventure, riders will enjoy the slipper clutch, three-level traction control, and ABS braking pacakge.
The gas tank is 6 gallons in capacity, and when empty, it lets the KTM 1050 Adventure to tip the scales at 467 lbs (wet).
Lastly, the suspension is by WP, while the brakes are by Brembo. The windscreen, handlebars, and footpegs are all adjustable, and the front wheel is 19 inches, while the rear is a 17 incher.
It may not be the class-leader that is the KTM 1190 Adventure, nor is it the palace of luxury that is the KTM 1290 Super Adventure, but the KTM 1050 Adventure promises a solid adventure-tourer for those who are on a budget, or simply don’t wish all the bells and whistles that ADV bikes are coming with these days.
European pricing is set at €13,150.
