Honda Fielding Moto2 Wild Card at Indy

American Honda has announced that it will field a Moto2 wild card at the 2010 Red Bull Indianapolis GP, using the Moriwaki Engineering MD600 race package for their entry. Moriwaki is one of the more popular chassis manufacturers in Moto2, with Toni Elias winning two rounds on his Gresini Racing sponsored MD600. Honda’s aim is to help promote the new GP racing class, and to also raise awareness for two good causes.

“American Honda views the Indy GP as an opportunity to support Moto2 in the U.S.,” said Ray Blank, Senior Vice President, American Honda Powersports Division. “We are very excited to be road racing again in America. This great new production-based world championship format is based on the Honda CBR600RR engine platform, so it’s a natural for our participation.”

Honda America’s Moto2 team will be representing and raising money the Ride for Kids program, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation while racing at Indy. More info about this special racing effort as we get it.
