KTM Teases New Motorcycle with an Audio Clip KTM 1190 RC8 R LC8 cylinder head 635x423

KTM is lined-up to release a few new models at the upcoming EICMA show, namely the KTM 390 Duke and the KTM 1190 Super Duke. Both bikes will be naked street machines, though the KTM 390 Duke will feature a 373cc single-cylinder engine, while the KTM 1190 Super Duke will get a de-tuned version of the KTM 1190 RC8 R’s v-twin lump.

Helping promote its new releases, KTM has teased out an audio clip of one of the bike’s exhaust note. Whether to you it sounds like a Super Duke or baby Duke, our sources say it is one mean machine. Listen to this kitten purr after the jump, and leave your guesses in the comments section.

Sounds like a thumper in an underground parking lot….I like it :)

Sounds like a little high revving thumper in a warehouse.

If you click through the blog history on that site you’ll come across some nice photos of their moto3 (isn’t it?) bike, and behind that is a pretty purposeful looking dirtbike. lovely.

The question will soon be, whatever they show…will they bring it here?

My guess, a 373 cc Duke.

    My wish, a 373cc moto3-type streetbike.

    thank you Santa

Thumper for sure. A crazy, pissed off thumper.

  4. Damo says:

Sounds f*cking awesome. Like a Yamaha SR500 on roids.

  5. MikeD says:

Before revving it sounds like a high strung V-2 (im ashamed to say this but more like a 45* V-2 [I KNOW, BLASPHEMY] on fast idle)… revving it sounds like a 13.5:1, 13k rpm, 45hp 250cc motocross engine.

My feeble brain says that thing revs far too quick to be a V-2…but my wang says: [WHO CARES !!!]

I say chances are 99% “High on Face Eating Drugs” Thumper or 1% 1190 Mini-me V-2.

The last time I heard something that sweet it was Jimmy Adamo’s Ducati tuned by Reno Leoni in the garage at a Pocono National in the early 80’s !

love that pop. This clip has me picturing some guy flailing on a 390 in a parking garage, backing it in, wheelies, finger to the parking attendant…sweet bliss

    Oooooh baby !

  9. “but my wang says: [WHO CARES !!!]”

    ROTFLMAO!!!

Mike, you crazy bastage, you crack me the f@rk up!

Sounds like another thumper in an echo chamber. Less than exciting in the sound dept., though I’m sure it’ll be a blast to ride.
