As we saw with the 2013 Triumph Street Triple, the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675 supersport gets a slew of modifications for the next model year. Reworking the Daytona 675’s three-cylinder motor, Triumph has been able to coax an additional 2hp and 2 lbs•ft of torque from the British-born sport bike. Revising the frame and bodywork, Triumph has also shed 3 lbs from the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675.
Accordingly, the Triumph Daytona 675 is now good for 126hp @ 12,600 (redline is 14,400 rpm), while power has been improved throughout the rev range. One of the more obvious changes to the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675 is the adoption of a GP-style low-slung exhaust, in favor of the previous undertail unit. Certain to offend some purists, we think the change has been tastefully done, and it helps to centralize the mass on the three-cylinder track weapon.
Triumph says that it has added new twin injectors for each of the Daytona 675’s three cylinders, which aids in both power and efficiency. Other changes include titanium valves, a wider bore, and a larger intake. Mated to the motor is a six-speed gearbox that features a slipper clutch.
The suspension is the latest from KYB (formerly Kayaba), and includes a revised rear shock. Pirelli Supercorsa tires are fitted as standard, as well as a new switchable ABS system, that has a late-intervention track setting that allows for rear wheel drift (woot!). Triumph has also tweaked the ergos on the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675, with the a 10mm reduction in seat height.
Knowing you will want to take your Daytona 675 to the track, Triumph has created a detachable number plate/taillight unit for easy track day conversion (double woot!). Other refinements have been made to the bodywork and cockpit design. Pricing in the US is $11,559 for the base model, and $13,499 for the 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R. Both models will be in Triumph dealerships in February 2013.
