UPDATE: Click here for Ducati’s official unveiling of the Multistrada 1200 at EICMA.

EICMA must be leaking like a sieve, as this is the third leak we’ve gotten ahead of next week’s show (check for a view of the 2010 Aprilia Shiver 750 & 2010 Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory). This time, we’ve gotten pictures of highly anticipated (or is it hyped?) 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200.

These photos appear to be the first official shots of the new Multistrada 1200, and they show off not only the “S” version with its Öhlins suspension, but also give a good look at the bike with its OEM saddle bags (could this be the “T” touring model that was rumored?). Click after the jump to see what the fuss is all about.

Many Bothans died to give us this information.

Much prettier than I expected. The duckbill is the only issue. Way better looking than the multistrada, that’s for sure.

Sleek and sexy… like an ant-eater.

  12. christian says:

It is not a match for the BMW GS adventure for sure….the fuel tank seems pretty small (like all Italian motorcycles). I do not think is really for an adventure around the globe. I see it more as a commuter bike…it could be a match for the ktm 990 sm-t. so, bmw r1200gs adv. still king of the road (on/off of course)….

  13. Sean Mitchell says:

    Many Bothans died…….good one!

It’s definitley more deserving of the name than the last body style…we’ll see if the function before fashion BMW/V-Strom crew accept it as a true dual sport….needs a bigger front wheel.

  14. Otto says:

I like the bike, but question why they had to pack it with so much technology; (read: high maintenance/cost of ownership). What happened to bikes that you and I could work on? I would have prefered a two valve, air cooled engine and less electronic aids.

I don’t need or want 150hp on the road, or 100hp on a dirt road. I have 90hp bikes and they do quite well on the road and 52 hp bikes are plenty for the woods.

One last comment, with all the options, we’re probably looking at another $20,000 adventure bike. My current bike keeps lookin better and better.

If it were not for that horrible noise they make when idling…no question about it for me……shes a beauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutyyyyy……..have to listen to that engine first, then all the rest….
I trully enjoy the compant of my Tiger 1050,that hp is all shes missing….ohhh life…….havent met the perfect woman yet…..think the Ducati might do the trick?….lol:)
