Episode 222 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this show covers the MotoGP action from the Catalan GP at Barcelona.

On the mics, we have Steve English, David Emmett, Neil Morrison, and Adam Wheeler, as they check in during the MotoGP summer break to look back on the grand prix season thus far, and where the series is heading for the second-half of 2021.

The guys start off on a tangent, discussing soccer and what it means to be a fan again, and their plans for the summer, before moving on to talk about the calendar for the second half of the MotoGP season, and how a rise in COVID-19 infections might affect it.

Then they dive into the burgeoning Silly Season, talking about who will take the seats expected to open up at Petronas Yamaha for next year, and what the team’s options are.

Next is a discussion regarding Raul Fernandez’ imminent promotion to MotoGP, and what it means for KTM and their pool of talent.

Following that, there is talk about wildcards and replacement riders, with Cal Crutchlow set to take the place of Franco Morbidelli for the next three races, and Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa possibly making wildcard appearances for Aprilia and KTM respectively.

As always, the conversation is insightful and lively, and adds another dimension to what goes on in the MotoGP Championship paddock.
