Jorge Lorenzo put his troubles from yesterday behind him to qualifying on the front row for tomorrows Grand Prix of the Americas.

Nicky Hayden pits during FP2, balance and electronics issue have left him looking concerned.

Not even with the soft tire in qualifying could let Andrea Dovizioso match Marquez’s stunning lap.

A great qualifying session for Scott who will start from the outside of the 2nd row.

Nicky Hayden at Turn 5 during FP3.

Valentino Rossi powers out of Turn 9 during FP3. He will start tomorrow’s race from 4th.

Marc Marquez in the build up to Q2.

Valentin Rossi felt he could have stayed on the front row, but the progress over the last 12 months compared to Honda is giving him plenty of hope.

Andrea Iannone had to go through Q1 to claim 7th on the grid.

Jack Miller chillin at the end of Q1.

With no dogs to navigate today Maverick Viñales did well to make it through to Q2 and qualify 12th.

Today’s pole position was the 51st of Marc Marquez’s already illustrious career, but has he ever had a better one?

A misfire cost Bradley Smith time and left him 10th on the grid, but his pace in FP3 and FP4 shows the progress he’s made.

Given how spectacular his pole lap was this was the most sedate that we saw Marquez on his fastest lap!
