The second of BMW Motorrad USA’s recalls to hit in the past few days, this one concerns the fuel pump flange on the following motorcycles: BMW K1300S (2009-2011), BMW K1300GT (2009-2011), BMW S1000 RR (2010-2011), BMW R1200GS (2005-2011), BMW R1200GS Adventure (2005-2011), BMW R1200R (2005-2011), BMW R1200RT (2005-2011), BMW R1200S (2005-2011), BMW R1200 ST (2005-2011), BMW HP2 Enduro (2006-2010), BMW HP2 Megamoto (2006-2010), BMW HP2 Sport (2006-2010), BMW K1200R  (2005-2008), BMW K1200R Sport (2005-2008), BMW K1200B (2005-2008), BMW K1200S (2005-2008),  BMW K1200GT (2005-2008), BMW K1600GT (2012), and the BMW K1600GTL (2012).

As you can tell from the extensive list, there is a plethora of machines in the United States affected by this recall, 16,926 motorcycles to be precise, and it is a continuation of a previous recall for the same issue.

Attention owners of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701, your bikes are being recalled for a fuel leak that may occur from the fuel level sensor and fuel pump mounting area.

Obviously, a leaking fuel situation could be a potential safety hazard, as the leaking fuel could ignite and cause a fire.

Accordingly, The recall affects 1,500 units (812 Vitpilens, and 688 Svartpilens) from the 2018, 2019, and 2020 model years.

BMW Motorrad North America announced yesterday it will be recalling 50,184 motorcycles ranging from 2005-2012 due to potential fuel leaks. The models affected are the 2005-2011 R-models, 2005-2012 K-models, 2010-2011 S1000RR models, and 2006-2010 HP2 models.

According to BMW, the reason for the recall is the fuel pump flange and auxiliary fuel pump flange may develop cracks and leak, which may result in fires.

Ducati North America has issued a recall for various Multistrada models ranging from 2003 to 2009, including the 1100cc, 1000cc, and 620cc variants, because of an issue with the fuel tank pump flange seal leaking fuel. Affecting 3,911 models, owners of the following motorcycles could be affected by the recall, and should check to see if their VIN is affected: 2003-2004 & 2006 Ducati MTS 1000, 2005 Ducati MTS 1000S, 2006 Ducati MTS 620, and 2007-2009 Ducati MTS 1100.
