Much has been said about Danilo Petrucci’s next move after MotoGP, and currently the Italian rider is making headlines in the 2022 Dakar Rally.

Petrucci’s Dakar debut may not being so good, considering his KTM 450 Rally broke down, and he had to be rescued by helicopter (effectively ending his bid for a good result), but there is other news about the former-MotoGP racer.

That is to say, Danilo Petrucci seems set to be MotoAmerica’s next big name, as the Italian confirmed the news while talking to Raquel Jiménez Rodríguez at the Motosan.es website.

“After MotoGP and the Dakar, I will go to MotoAmerica,” said Danilo Petrucci, according to the Spanish website.

The news of such a move have been swirling in the MotoAmerica paddock for some time now, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Paddock gossip has put Petrucci on a Ducati Panigale V4 R next season in the American series, with the HSBK Racing outfit, though neither party has confirmed that news.

With his impending American arrival, Petrucci becomes just one of now several European riders who have crossed the pond to race in the United States.

This will certainly only add to the level of competition in the American Superbike races, and also helps raise the profile of road racing in the USA.

At the very least, the affable and popular MotoGP racer will be a welcomed addition to the MotoAmerica series, and is sure to be a popular rider with American fans.
