Video: Rossi Riding the Ducati Superbike 1198 SP

More eye candy for Ducatisti and Valentino Rossi fans, as Ducati has released a video of Rossi’s test at Misano on board the 1198 SP. Testing his shoulder’s fitness level, Rossi admitted to being in considerable pain during the test, which doesn’t bode well for the Italian as the 2011 season rapidly approaches. Before Rossi will take to the Ducati Desmosedici GP11 under the lights of Qatar, MotoGP is slated to run at Sepang this week. With such little time passing since this test on the Ducati Superbike 1198 SP, we imagine the outing at Malaysia will still be painful for the Italian, as he tries to further hone in the GP11 for racing duty.

Rossi completed only 25 laps at the Misano test on the 1198 SP, making his outing at the Italian circuit very short. But clearly he was able to get a grasp of his shoulder’s recovery rate right away, saying “the track more or less confirmed what we expected: the shoulder is painful—especially under braking, when the front area hurts, where they stitched the tendon.”

“Movement is stable enough, and we’re also doing not so bad with endurance, but apart from that, it hurts a lot and isn’t very strong,” continued Rossi. “Let’s hope it gets a little better in these next few days before the test in Malaysia. Once we’re there, we’ll work with the riding position in an effort to make the most of the situation and collect important information with the Desmosedici.”

    Where’s Nicky?

Ummm..if this is just a “shoulder test” then why is he giving feedback on the bike? Something says to me that Valentino will be doing more than just developing the MotoGp bike. He might not race the WSB entrant, but he is going to factor into its development.

A team doing what they can to prepare for the task, can’t hate the effort.

Oh man it looks so weird to see VALE in red!

I’m sure if he doesn’t disturb the shoulder with crashes during the season he should heal up well.

I just hope he doesn’t do TOO much and aggravate the injury.

oh man oh man oh man i can’t wait!
