The Pagina Amarillas Aspar Ducati team has announced that they have retained the services of rider Hector Barbera for the 2011 season. Barbera has shown good results for the true satellite Ducati team in his rookie season, currently sitting 12th in the MotoGP Championship standings, and the top non-factory Ducati rider in the paddock.

Despite riding the short bus for Jorge “Aspar” Martinez, Barbera has found more concistency in his riding style in MotoGP, compared to his 250 GP days. Third quickest of the premiere class rookies (#1 Ben Spies, #2 Marco Simoncelli), Barbera has been an asset for Aspar, who recently inked a new deal with Ducati (despite being rumored to be in serious talks with Aprilia) in the 2012 season that will see the Spanish team add another Ducati to its stable.
