Radical Ducati Mikaracer

The Spanish custom bike scene continues to warm our hearts as Radical Ducati (Happy 10th year anniversary guys!) has just created another v-twin masterpiece. Taking a Ducati Superbike 1098 frame and motor, RAD has worked its touches into this desmodromic dreamboat with its usual flare. It’s easy to spot the Spanish team’s design ideas and inspirations that we’ve seen on some of its other bikes, but the exhaust on this Ducati Mikaracer certainly stands out as something unique and special.

Part GP racer, part street tracker, the asymetrical mounting might have our OCD in a tizzy, but the result is also very striking and sounds oh so good (check the video after the jump). The tail section on the Mikaracer also pops-out, if for no other reason than the fact it looks like it was removed from a giant hornet’s thorax (you almost want to drag the Spanish equivalent of the DMV into the street for ruining things with that license plate and holder though), which is becoming a hallmark feature for RAD’s bikes. Photos, video, and technical/build specs after the jump.

Looks awesome! I’d have gone with a slightly different headlight though – maybe something similar to the previous generation monster (like the S2R) to match the classic lines of the tailsection.

It looks very nice, I like the exhuast and the tank. It shows their style a lot. The healight reminds me of a brutale.

Looks really good overall, but I think that a Monster single sided swingarm would have been better choice. The 1098 one is a bit too bulky, “superbike-ish” and it spoils somewhat the clean, classic and minimalistic look of the whole thing.

I love the look, but would not want to ride it with that pipe on my inner thigh!

  • ducracer

CRAP! He won’t be having any children or anymore at least. Exhaust heat baking his nuts!! And roasting his inner left thigh.

  • Keith

I’d take ‘er home. Those pipes don’t roast a thing…honest.

Alright. I’ve been fighting so hard not to turn my 800 SS into a cafe/streetfighter bike. but this just put me over the edge. I’m going to take some Que’s of this bike, and make the concept my own for sure. It won’t look this nice, being a simple little air cooled and all, but this is just inspiration! Thanks for posting this article A&R!
