Missing three races because of a mystery illness, Casey Stoner put any critics he had from his sudden departure in 2009 to bed with his masterful race at Phillip Island. Racing in front of his home crowd, Stoner slid around the Australian course to a decisive victory, in what we called one of the top races of 2009.

Making the moment even more special for Australian fans, and Ducatisti alike, was the special race livery that Stoner ran for his home race. Hoping to commemorate that race and Stoner’s contributions to the Marlboro Ducati team (Stoner is leaving Ducati for HRC next year), a French Ducati dealership in Moulins-lès-Metz has decided to sell a limited number of Casey Stoner Ducati 1198S Phillip Island replicas.

Fitted with bodywork based off Stoner’s Desmosedici GP9 at Phillip Island, the race replica 1198S also features a bevy of Ducati Performance parts, including a full titanium Termignoni exhaust system. Pricing isn’t for the faint-of heart though, as Ducati-Metz is asking €24,999 for the Phillip Island race rep.

    wowwwwwwwwwww….awesome….she so cute…

  • Bas

Who wants a replica from almost ex-rider Stoner when there will probably be a Rossi replica next year?!!

  • Sean Mitchell

Good point. And believe me, I’m a helpless Ducatista, but I’ve never thought these GP graphics worked on the Superbikes.

  • Gas

@Bas That’s funny. Stoner gave ducati their 1st gp championship. Now don’t even tell me it’s the other way around. Capirex also had the same bike back then. He has been the top ducati rider and never been beaten by his teammate until this year. So for all that he has done he does deserve credit. As for Rossi, it will be 2 years before his replica comes out.

  • Sean Mitchell

But it would’ve been more fitting to do something like this back when say, Stoner won the championship?
The timing is terrible. Silly French!

  • Sean totally agree, and why was it not targetted at Aussie Ducati customers by …….DUCATI??

  • CBR600RR 09

Wow Bas…. You might be entitled to an opinion but it doesn’t mean your right!

Casey Stoner may be an “…almost ex-rider…” but it does not change how well he has done and what he has done for Ducati. Plus it Ducati France not Ducati Bologne so it’s likely the higher or highest ups don’t even know whats going on.

  • CBR600RR 09

Oh sorry, and being Aussie I would kill for one of these bikes!

  • froryde

Another rep? Yawn… Have to agree with Sean there – the timing of it is an epic fail.

the Hayden and Stoner reps are garbage, the Bayliss one was nice
