Episode 255 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this one is our last WorldSBK show of the year, and thus has Steve English and Gordon Ritchie joined by David Emmett and Neil Morrison, as they look back on the 2021 season.

The guys start out by tackling the biggest topic from this year’s season: the championship battle between Toprak Razgatlıoglu and Jonathan Rea, and how the Turkish upstart took the six-time World Champion to task in 2021.

There is also some discussion about the less-talked-about third protagonist in the 2021 season, as Scott Redding proved himself to be a title-contender on the Ducati, as well.

From there, the podcast takes a look at the new and upcoming riders for WorldSBK, and there is a discussion about the different channels and avenues there are in the various national series not only bring new blood into Superbikes, but also the grand prix paddock.

After the ad break, the guys return to discuss what it will take for the other manufacturers to be world contenders, specifically looking at the BMW and Honda efforts, and how those brands need to build bikes around the Pirelli superbike tires.

From there, the team answers a listener question about the possibility of seeing Imola or Laguna Seca on the calendar, which evolves into a conversation about the new tracks that the WorldSBK series visited this year.

The show wraps up with each host talking about their biggest surprises from the season, and what they expect to see in 2022.

All in all, it is an insightful show that is sure to give you a better look at what is going on behind the scenes in the WorldSBK Championship paddock.
