Mission Motors TTXGP Entry Spotted at Infineon

Only 45 days remain until the start of the TTXGP, and , has been spotted taking laps at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point to CA locals) in California, with pictures to boot.

It looks like most of the original CGI of the digital concept has made it into street form. We’re still not crazy about the nose section, but the rest of the bike looks like a candidate for a TRON re-imagining. There’s no word on lap times or other performance numbers, but it looks like Tom Montano was giving the bike a proper thrashing around the coastal track.

Donington at Risk to Losing MotoGP, WSBK And BSB In 2009?

Trouble has surrounded Donington Park since in began redesigning the track to make it suitable for Formula One. First, the track had to reschedule and postpone a number of events after complaints about the construction. Then the run off area between Macleans and Coppice was severely compromised when the new paddock access tunnel was being built. Now, Donington seems to have legal trouble brewing as the owner of the track, Tom Wheatcroft, has started proceedings against Donington Ventures Leisure Limited for unpaid rent.

Ducati to Get New Modern Factory

It looks like Ducati will be moving out of their current headquarters at Borgo Panigale (just outside the old city walls of Bologna), and into a new facility down the road at Perscietana. The new facility will boast nearly 1.8 million square feet, with space included for events and exhibits for customers and visitors, along with a new restaurant and test track.

Paul Sr. From Orange County Choppers Opens A Ducati Dealership

It looks like folks at Orange County Choppers will try their hand at a different type of twin in addition to their already existing custom chopper line. Paul Sr. in conjunction with Ducati North America have announced that OCC will be opening up a Ducati dealership in upstate New York called Ducati Hudson Valley. The venture comes as OCC celebrates its 10 year anniversary, and will be one of Ducati’s first Ducati Retail Design Projects.

MotoGP: Motegi Race Results

The rain gods smiled down on Motegi, Japan today and provided a timely start to the second GP race of the season, after rainy conditions forced race officials to cancel the GP’s qualifying session on Saturday. The Japanese GP wasn’t without incident however, as several riders failed to finish the race due to various incidents and events. WSBK: Assen Race 1 Results

In Assen, Holland, it was Ben Spies who took the holeshot in Race 1, launching off the line from pole position and into turn 1 of the Dutch course. Spies was followed by Max Neukirchner and Noriyuki Haga, neither of whom could touch the American’s lead position after turning just one lap around the course. As Haga closed in on Neukirchner it seemed there would be a good battle for second brewing, but the German made a mistake in the GT chicane and tossed his bike. He would finish 13th for the day. Old And Busted Made Into New Hotness

We don’t usually post about project bikes, but this one stood out and grabbed us. What do you do with an old and busted CBR600F that’s more than 20 years old? Why, you turn it into new hotness that’s what, and that is exactly what rider did to this CBR rat bike.

Here are a few shots of the transformation, but Roguemoto has put a full-accounting of the metamorphisis up on Flickr. It’s worth the time flipping through the shots to see the craftsmanship that went into this old relic.

Spies Wins Dutch Superpole at Assen – 4th WSBK Superpole Win in a Row

In Assen, Ben Spies took his fourth Superpole win in a row by besting the existing pole record by 7/10ths of a second, with back-to-back 1’36.6 laps. Rain at Motegi Forces Japanese GP Qualifying to be Cancelled

Heavy lunchtime rain at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit led to the cancellation of all qualifying sessions for the Polini Grand Prix of Japan, leaving grid positions in all three World Championship categories to be decided according to Free Practice positions. Initially, the decision was to wait for an hour, and then assess if the weather conditions would improve enough for qualifying to be run later in the day. However with the rain being unrelenting, there was nothing left for Race Direction to do but to cancel the qualifying sessions for all three classes. As such, Valentino Rossi will start at the Japanese GP’s pole position for the first time in his career.
