Breaking cover ahead of Milan, CR&S has finally taken the curtain off their Duu street cruiser. The bike, which features an S&S 1,916cc v-twin motor, is expected to hit European soil in 2011 with a price tag around €20,000. Photos and more after the jump.
In exactly one week’s time, A&R will be toughing it out in the harsh Milanese winter, sipping our cappucino, while MV Agusta shows us the latest iteration of their F4 Superbike. After releasing photos of the new 2010 MV Agusta Brutale, and teasing us with the front-view of the F4, we were a little worried the design of the new MV flagship (rendered above) was going to be a little stale. We once got an email from Walter Roehr that started with the phrase: “From your least favorite motorcycle manufacturer” and the proceeded with an appropriate press release format. While it may not have been true at the time of its utterance, with the untimely demise of Buell, Roehr may now find itself as A&R’s resident whipping boy. And while we may not be great fans of the 1250sc (we’d still like to swing a leg over one Walter), we’d certainly like the bike a whole lot more if $25,000 were lopped off the price tag, and that’s exactly what we have here in this story.
There seems to be a shuffle going on in the Fiat Yamaha camp, as a slew of Yamaha’s engineers will be headed to HRC for the 2010 MotoGP season.
With most of the technical talent coming out of Jorge Lorenzo’s side of the paddock, Daniele Romagnoli, Lorenzo’s former team manager, may have familiar faces if he does end up with the factory Honda team.
Zero Motorcycles continues its sales push with an announcement about its entrance into the Asian market by partnering with Singapore-based AMPLE World. AMPLE will distribute Zero’s product line through-out Asia, starting with the Zero X and Zero MX, and later in 2010 taking orders for the Zero S and Zero DS.
Dorna and the MotoGP rider’s Safety Commission met in Sepang this past Friday before the Malaysian GP to talk about the upcoming 2010 season, and in particular the addition of the Hungarian Balatonring to the schedule. While Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta believes the track will be completed on-time for its MotoGP debute, Satefy Comission Founding Member, Loris Capirossi, disagrees. Putting his money where his mouth is, Capirossi has bet Ezpeleta on the Hungarian tracks completion.
While many Moto2 teams are taking the path of least resistance, and out-sourcing or flat-out purchasing their race bikes, Tech3 will enter the 2010 Moto2 season with a chassis of their own design. With Colin Edwards residing in the paddock, and regarded as one of the best development riders, there seems some logic in Tech3 tapping him and prodigy Ben Spies to swing a leg over the Moto2 bike and give their impressions. However, Tech3 has announced that is not to be the case.
Zero Motorcycles has announced its launch of a fleet sales program aimed at corporations, non-profits, government bodies, and small business owners who are looking to make multiple unit purchases. The program is set to launch November 2nd, with pricing being based on volume and support requirements. It’s hard to make B2B sales sound sexy, but consider the missed opportunity that was Erik Estrada on a Zero DS…if only we could turn back time.
Ducati has officially acknowledged the existence of the upcoming Multistrada 1200, making a dedicated mini site for the adventure tourer. There’s not a lot there now in regards to information (there’s only a countdown timer to EICMA and a teaser video), but it does at least confirm the rumor of the bike’s name not being Stradaperta (we still like that name better). Stepping out of the A&R office briefly today, we noticed a slight nip in the air, which in California means that the weather has dipped below 70°F. For the rest of the country though rain, ice, and snow have already begun to rear their ugly heads, and two-wheeled enthusiasts have already begun to put their motorcycles in the garage for winter’s cold freeze.
But these actions are not necessary, and BMW has sent Chris Pfeiffer with a modified BMW G450X “Snowcat” to remind us of that. Video after the jump of some quality snow-filled hooliganism.
