According to a press release issued by Kawasaki Motors Corporation U.S.A. (KMC), Effective April 1st, Masafumi Nakagawa will be assuming the position of company President, replacing Takeshi Teranishi, as he takes command of KMC Japan.

Nakagawa is no stranger to the inner workings of the company, coming aboard in 1977 after earning an economics degree from the University of Kyoto.

He rose quickly through the company, becoming the Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe as well as executive officer of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Motorcycle and Engine division in Japan.

Although Teranishi leaves behind a considerable legacy, considering the company was responsible for releasing several milestone products on his watch such as the Ninja 300 and Jet Ski Ultra 310 series, he is confident Nakagawa can fill his shoes.

“Masa’s experience in all aspects of Kawasaki’s business operations will allow the company to continue its growth path and strengthen efforts to broaden our brand’s impact in the power sports arena” said Teranishi.
