The Erik Buell Racing 1190RS in the Nude

The guys at Erik Buell Racing are clearly getting revved up to debut their new EBR 1190RS street bike, posting this shot of the v-twin superbike on the company’s facebook page this evening. In the shot we see the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS without its fairings on, but the headlight operation controls clearly give away that this is the motorcycle Buell intends to sell in limited quantities to street riders this year.

Öhlins forks, carbon fiber galore (a very interesting sub-fairing we might add), and new lighter wheels with the standard Buell single-side perimeter brake disc are the order for the day. We’ve also spotted in the previous glimpse of the 1190RS a dual-stacked project headlight arrangement, and we expect other goodies will become apparent when the bike is officially unveiled. Don’t expect the EBR 1190RS to be cheap, but do expect it to have numbers close the EBR 1190RR race bike.

  • With all that carbon and CNC machined front fender stays, triple clamps, etc……. they must really be planning on a LIMITED production run. I can’t imagine they’ll even be able to sell the 500 necessary to homologate it for racing. That thing is going to be expensive! and it probably wont be any better than a lot of other bikes for a lot less money. Is there really that many people who will lay down a lot of money for an american assembled bike with an austrian motor, italian hand controls, swedish suspension, etc etc?? Buell could barely sell that many bikes when they had an American engine for a lot less money. time will tell I guess, but count me out…..oh wait I don’t have that much money anyways, maybe I should get back to work trying to make some instead of writing this……….

    Scooter dude…..
With that kind of attitude, the American sheep, driven by foreign advertising backed US bike magazines will always look away from an American sport bike. I like rooting for the home team. I like seeing the small innovative team going against the big money in the big show. All exotic motorcycles have the best parts from out sourced specialists…. Dumb ass.
Quit thinking of the old H-D backed Buells, dip shit. H-D is living in the past. Even their treasured clientele can’t see the beauty of the v-rod. The only engine Porsche, I mean Harley, made that wasn’t based on an air compressor.Go ride some standard issued… Stay with in the heard… Please.
