For 2011, KTM has added two new models to its street line-up: the 2011 KTM 1190 RC8 R Race Spec & 2011 KTM 990 Adventure Dakar. Helping celebrate 30 years of the Dakar Rally, the 990 Adventure Dakar comes with with the Adventure R’s peppier 115hp motor, and the base model Adventure’s 210mm suspension. The KTM 990 Adventure Dakar also comes with a selectable two-channel anti-lock brake system courtesy of the wicked smart minds at Bosch.

Other highlights in KTM’s 2011 street line is the massive price reduction on the KTM RC8R, which takes over the price point of the now discontinued RC8, making for one very affordable v-twin awesomebike. The 2011 KTM 990 SMT also gets some upgrades, most notably the same two-channel anti-lock brake system courtesy of Bosch. Full price list and availability breakdown after the jump.

More love for KTM, huh? three posts in 3 days. I’ll have an RCBR please…. with a side of SMR.

  • Little love this week. One more story in the pipe — I’ve been saving the best for last.

  • RSVDan

Nothing wrong with a little Austrian lovefest.

  • Shaitan

Diggin the new Dakar Limited Edition 990 Adventure. Too bad my dirt skills aren’t good enough to live up to the Dakar logo on the side; if I had it I’d just be a poser. I could probably get away with a Tiger 800XC or F800GS and ride the snot out of those.

  • BikePilot

Sweet lineup, but I’m still holding out for a 1190 SMT ;)

Shaita, all the “dakar” edition bikes are poser-machines – dakar is all MX-based 450cc thumpers. A KTM 990 Dakar (while an awesome bike in its own right) has about as much in common with a Dakar racer as a ford mustang has in common with a nascar racer.

Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t buy or ride a 990 dakar edition bike though – they are great bikes and way more useful than a real dakar rally bike (unless you plan to race the dakar).

  • How come the 690 Duke and 990 Super Duke didn’t make the KTM Street Bike Price List?

  • CZ

    Really…no Dukes?

  • mark

BikePilot — the 990 Adventure is directly descended from KTM’s older Dakar rally bikes. It’s only the last couple of years that the 450cc limit has been in place.

  • The Dukes weren’t listed in the press kit.
