First Look: Brammo Empulse RR Race Bike for TTXGP

05/13/2011 @ 8:40 am, by Jensen Beeler9 COMMENTS

Sitting outside of Brammo HQ in Ashland, here’s the first photo of the Brammo Empulse RR in its 2011 TTXGP livery. The green, white, and black paint scheme is a welcomed change from the red we’ve seen on the Empulse RR in the past, and should make it easy to spot the Brammo Empulse RR at Infineon this weekend, as Steve Atlas will be vying for the top step against the other five bikes that will be on the grid.

As we head up to the Sonoma track for the weekend, Asphalt & Rubber should get some more glimpses of the electric race bike, and bring you the first photos of it lapping the raceway-formerly-known-as-Sears-Point. We should also be getting our first glimpses of the Lightning Motors machines, but unfortunately will only be seeing the Mission R in the paddock, as Mission Motors has decided not to race this weekend.

  • What?? Lightning Motorcycles and Mission Motors didn’t run? Brammo vs Brammo?

How did you get the impression that Lightning Motorcycles will not show from this article?
Lightning should show, Mission cancelled entering their Vapor Bike in the race, but will put it on display for everyone to congratulate them on how great they are.

  • Lightning will run two bikes, Mission will not be running.

  • thanks, probably will be a duel Lightning vs Brammo!

  • come on lightning ! show your new creation!

The TTXGP website can’t event be bothered to list the teams running in this year ( but they are listed in a news item (
    They are:
    Lightning Motors……Michael Barnes………80
    Lightning Motors……Mike Hannas…………88
    Moto Electra………….Thad Wolff……………37
    Brammo Racing ……..Steve Atlas……………58
    Protomoto Racing…..Ely Schless……………18
    VOLT……………………Kenyon Kluge……….19

Mission Motors is listed — with excellent experienced local rider Steve Rapp — but apparently won’t run. Pussies.

It kind of made sense when Brammo displayed but did not run the Empulse RR at Laguna Seca, since they were hyping up the Empulse street bike. But, why is Mission even bothering to display their bike? Seems like they’ll just get a lot of “ha haaaa”s. That said, I can’t wait to see it up close.

The Brammo Empulse RR looks incredible! I like that paint job…a lot.

What a huge disappointment that Mission won’t be competing this weekend. Especially after all the build- up and hype for the new Mission R race bike at the Long Beach Motorcycle Show back in December, and that this race happens to be in their own backyard. What was the bike at the show…simply a pretty mock-up??! How’s the saying go, aaah yes…”All show, no go.”

  • Thank you for news about brammo race bike, I will also review about this and I am proud of the recent photos you took. Good luck to you and I will always wait for your next great news.
