More Photos of the New Honda CBR600RR Emerge

Honda gave us quite the surprise last week, announcing that there would be a new Honda CBR600RR sport bike for the 2021 model year.

While we are still another week away from the official debut (and thus when all the details will be revealed), we learn more about the supersport with each passing day.

Today, we get a fresh batch of photos (which we first saw on Italian website Moto.it), which give us a better glimpse of this restyled CBR600RR.

First off from the photos, we can see a clearer view of the dash, which confirms our earlier report that the 2021 Honda CBR600RR will get IMU-powered electronics, with traction control, wheelie control, throttle maps, and engine braking menus visible on the new TFT dash.

The dash, along with the electronics suite, seems to be lifted straight off the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, which bodes well for the 600cc-class bike.

We can also see that Honda will continue using Showa’s “Big Piston Fork” setup, presumably with a matching Showa rear shock.

Getting a clearer look at the chassis, we can see that the current generation frame and swingarm are used once again, and the engine looks to be the same, at least on the outside.

Countless other parts seem to be shared between the outgoing and incoming CBR600RR, including the bikes’ rearsets, passenger pegs, wheels, exhaust, and braking components.

Obviously, the 2021 Honda CBR600RR has a different shape to its bodywork, with a strong eye towards aerodynamic efficiency.

The winglets on the front fairing are a good example, but Honda has also worked on the air venting through the side fairings, as well as modifying the belly pan to deflect more air around the rear tire.

Set to officially debut on August 21st, we have many questions about the “new” Honda CBR600RR. How much will it cost? Which markets will it come to? Will there be a performance bump, or is it just cosmetics for the new year?

We don’t have much longer to wait to find out.
